The 16 shiny Alolan pokemon set for Pokemon GO’s anniversary event

Pokémon GO is celebrating it’s third anniversary. it really amazing how years have quickly passed by as the release of the game is still fresh in our minds. amazing!

To celebrate, they’ve thrown an event with a lot of cool bonuses like trading costing a quarter of what it normally does, special research to let trainers catch up to others, and raid bonus balls if you’re playing with friends.

But perhaps most importantly the game has now introduced 16 new shinies, some of the best ones yet considering it’s almost the entire Alolan collection. Though the event runs through July 6, these will be available indefinitely going forward as once a shiny is added to the game, it doesn’t leave. But you may have a better chance of getting them for this event.

Here’s the 16 alolan pokemon available :

1.Rattata
2.Raticate
3.Sandshrew
4.Sandslash
5.Vulpix
6.Ninetails
7.Diglett
8.Dugtrio
9.Meowth
10.Persian
11.Geodude
12.Graveler
13.Golem
14.Grimer
15.Muk
16.Exeggutor

Pokemon GO- Pokemon -Alolan
This is a big deal for the game because Alolan Pokémon were already weirdly colored and styled versions of existing Pokémon, and then to make them shiny on top of that is a lot of fun. My favorites from this group are easily the Geodude family and shiny Vulpix and Ninetails, which have always been two of my favorite Pokémon in terms of appearance alone.

The only Alolan missing from this list that comes to mind immediately Alolan Raichu, unless I missed a shiny variant of that going live earlier.

Regardless, this is definitely an event you’re not going to want to miss, so get out there and start catching, and see how many of these new shinies you get.

Pokémon GO has had staying power far beyond what I ever thought it would, and it’s awesome to see the game thriving to this degree for this long. And to see how massive the shiny dex has gotten too. I remember when they first started introducing them! Feels like yesterday.

Thanks for reading
